Spring Summer 2026
Strata Collection
For Spring Summer 2026, Vivi al Ago presents Strata - a collection shaped by ideas of permanence, adaptation and the beauty of layers accumulated over time. The name Strata speaks to layering in its many forms: in landscape and geology, in architecture and history, and within the clothing itself. Across Europe, the ancient and contemporary exist side by side. Historic architecture is preserved yet continually adapted to modern life; original workmanship remains visible beneath each new incarnation. It is this relationship between preservation and renewal that informs Strata.
Creative Director Maria Bigg approaches clothing in much the same way - looking to enduring forms rather than novelty and considering how they can be reinterpreted for the way women live now.
Beginning with the Cropped Jacket, the collection developed through a language of precise tailoring, layering and fluid drape. The Wrap Pant, Tailored Skirt and pared-back Trench Coat bring structure and discipline, countered by the movement of the Drift Dress and Silk Tie Scarf. Throughout Strata, these contrasts are intentional. Structure meets softness; permanence meets movement; restraint is balanced by sensuality. Subdued colour and tactile surfaces recall worn stone, faded landscapes and the interplay of light and shadow, while fluid silk suggests soft summer air and the effortless drapery of classical sculpture.
Underlying the collection is a principle central to Vivi al Ago: the idea of a woman's uniform. Rather than continually reinventing herself through fashion, the Vivi woman builds a considered wardrobe. Pieces are designed to work together, to be layered and reconfigured, and to remove some of the complication from getting dressed. Versatility is not an afterthought but part of the design process itself. She dresses first for herself - for functionality, comfort and the pleasure of beautifully considered clothing. She values quality over quantity and wants to feel composed, elegant and sophisticated. Her femininity and sensuality come not from decoration, but from confidence.
For Strata, this philosophy is expressed through the details that define Vivi al Ago: precise tailoring, signature stitching, considered construction, fluid silk and classic silhouettes approached with a contemporary eye. Led by Co-owners and Co-directors Maria Bigg and Alexandra Harvey, with Bigg as Creative Director, Vivi al Ago continues to develop a distinct design language grounded in restraint, longevity and an independence from trends. With Strata, that language feels increasingly assured. Classic permanence, adapted to the world today.
